Crazy, Busy, Thought and Prayer Provoking Days In the House of Hale

I love to do plays on words. Our last name is a neverending joke of phrases.

Anyway, things have certainly been crazy here these past few days and I have a lot to ask that you pray for:
  • One of my sister's co-workers (a pediatrician) desperatly needs prayers. His wife was late to a dinner on Labor Day and as the story unfolded, she was found deep in the woods where she allegedly had committed suicide. Apparently things look suspicious b/c the authorities are treating it as a homicide, not a suicide. Regardless of the details, this family needs prayers. The doc and his wife are in their early 30's and whenever something of this nature takes place it's hard to deal with, but with the investigation and a small town rumor mill the size of Texas, I'm sure there is even more undue stress on him.

  • Brandon works for GE as a chemical contractor / sales / take people out for golf and a steak dinner person. His current customer (Murray, the lawn mower company) is in a major situation. From what little B knows it looks like if they aren't bought by a major company soon, they will be forced to close down the plant. This plant is THE employment place in Lawrenceburg. Although B's everyday work would change, our financial situation isn't really in jeopardy, but the bulk of Lawrenceburg's is. If 2,000+ people were to be out of work, it could devestate this entire town. The rumor mill here is horrendous as welll and people are really afraid for their futrures.

  • My little "send the resume out and hope for a bite" bit was successful. I have had a mental health agency call / e-mail asking for an interview. If I am successful in getting a job as a case manager it will mean several different things for me and any clients. B and I want desperately to get out of any kind of debt (other than our mortagage and my student loans, which according to Suze O. are good kinds of debt) before we bring a child into this world (either through me giving birth, or through adoption). The extra $$, though not an ammount that would support us both, would make a HUGE difference in us obtaing that goal. Also, being a case manager is a BIG job that affects people's lives ~ wisdom and love are a definite must in this field.

  • Today is Ron's last chemo treatment before they do more testing and go into stem cell replacement. He is usually sick for the rest of the week and then gradually gains his strenght back as the days pass. So far things are working out well. Praise and Thanks to God!
I guess that's about all of the news for now. We had a wonderful time at the concert on Saturday. I'll blog more about that later. For now I have a lot of reading to do for school and a test to study for tomorrow. Now Simon and Garfunkel are playing their soothing sounds of silence and I am reading like crazy for a quiz that I forgot about. I believe the words school and stress are synonamous. What do you think?!!

Happy Monday to all & as always...

Tidings of Joy! :)

P.S. For some unknown reason, the oh-so-random Blogger spell check isn't opening in Netscape. Please overlook any errors from America's #1 misspeller! :)
